Coosage didn't start as a business. It started as a mum trying to find something beautiful for her son to take to his school formal.

I remember buying corsages and thinking, these are nice, but they don't feel personal. So I started making them myself. Just for him at first. Then his friends. Then their friends.

Before I knew it, mums in the neighbourhood were asking if I could make something for their kids too.

So I set up a small Etsy page, nothing fancy, just a way to keep track of orders locally here in Ashburton.

That little side project has grown faster than I expected. 35 orders in 2024. 125 in 2025. 275 already this year.

This year I decided to go bigger, literally. Spring Racing felt like the natural next step, big, bold flowers for a day when everyone's already dressed to be noticed. I'm building the racewear range the same way I built everything else, one piece at a time, learning what works as I go.

Every corsage and boutonnière is still handmade by me, from home, using fresh seasonal flowers. No two are exactly the same. That's kind of the point.

I'm not a florist by trade. I work in HR consulting and spend most of my time building tech products. Coosage exists in the in-between, late nights, early mornings, weekends.

But I genuinely love it.

There's something special about being part of these moments, formals, weddings, the big nights people remember forever. And knowing something I made is part of that.

That's why I care about getting it right. Every time.
